The Philadelphia 76ers managed to get their way into the massive Kevin Love trade and make it an even bigger deal than it already was, and as a result they came away with a decent haul for a team who had nothing to do with the deal a month ago.

More from Minnesota Timberwolves

It took giving up Thaddeus Young to get in on the deal, but the Sixers knew Young wanted out anyways. They picked up a first-round draft pick and two players in exchange for him, one of which was Alexey Shved.

According to 76ers beat writer Tom Moore, the team doesn’t seem to be interested in waiving Shved now that he’s been acquired.

Shved showed flashes with the Wolves but never got a chance to shine next to Ricky Rubio. In Philly, the guard has a big chance to finally make himself the star he could have been in Minnesota or at the very least make sure that he makes his mark enough to extend his career beyond just this trade.
