The Pittsburgh Steelers coughed up a 24-point halftime lead against the Cleveland Browns Sunday, but recovered in time to win it on Shaun Suisham’s 41-yard field goal as time expired, 30-27.

It was all Pittsburgh in the first half as the Steelers stormed to a 27-3 halftime lead, scoring 24 unanswered points over the last 15:55 over the half.

More from Cleveland Browns

The Browns made a game of it early in the second half, getting scores on their first two possessions. Cleveland drove 80 yards in six plays after taking the opening kickoff, getting some help from an

Ike Taylor

facemask penalty and then getting 22 yards from Terrance West on a first-and-10 to get deep into Steeler territory.

Brian Hoyer

hooked up with

Miles Austin

for 17 yards to get the ball into the red zone and from there, Isaiah Crowell scored on a 3-yard run. After holding Pittsburgh to a three-and-out, the Browns went right back to work, going 59 yards in seven plays, capped by this 15-yard burst by Crowell.

On the first play of the fourth quarter Billy Cundiff made it a one-possession game with a 25-yard field goal that cut the Steeler lead to 27-20.

After the field goal, Dri Archer opted to try to run the ball out of the end zone, but was grabbed by K’Waun Williams at the 10-yard line, giving the Steelers a long field. Ben Roethlisberger threw two incompletions and was sacked on third-and-10 by Jabaal Sheard.

Cleveland got the ball back near midfield and took advantage, with Crowell picking up 16 yards on a run and Hoyer hitting Andrew Hawkins for 17 yards to get the ball into the end zone.

On the next play, Hoyer hit Travis Benjamin for a 9-yard score to tie it.

Cleveland went backwards on its final possession and the Steelers got the ball at their own 43 with 47 seconds left. Roethlisberger moved the Steelers down to the Browns’ 24, with a 20 yard completion to Markus Wheaton setting up Suisham’s game winner.

Roethlisberger was 23-for-34 for 365 yards, with a touchdown and an interception. The scoring pass was a thing of beauty:

Hoyer, meanwhile, was 19-for-31 for 230 yards and a score. There was no Johnny Manziel sighting on Sunday. West ran 16 times for 100 yards for Cleveland, while Le’Veon Bell went for 109 yards on 21 carries, with a 38-yard touchdown in the first half.
