It appears the Phoenix Suns enjoy irritating restricted point guard Eric Bledsoe as not only did the team sign Isaiah Thomas as a free agent this offseason, they’re apparently interested in signing guard Zoran Dragic in the near future.

More from NBA Free Agency

If the name sounds familiar that’s because Zoran is the brother of current Phoenix Suns point guard, Goran Dragic. While no addition is imminent, it’s somewhat amusing the Phoenix Suns are showing interest in the guard considering they still don’t have Eric Bledsoe under contract. Might their desire to bring the younger Dragic aboard reflect their future plans with Bledsoe or even Zoran’s brother, Goran?

"And signing Zoran after this World Cup, sources say, is indeed an option Phoenix is pursuing, which would be a move that offers potential short- and long-term benefits for the Suns in their fight to hold onto Goran Dragic with unrestricted free agency looming for The Dragon in July 2015."

Adding Zoran Dragic to the Phoenix Suns roster wouldn’t be very costly so from a financial standpoint it shouldn’t impact the organizations attempts to re-sign Eric Bledsoe. However, from a playing time standpoint the Suns would have to figure out a rotation which would include Bledsoe, Goran Dragic, Isaiah Thomas and Zoran Dragic. That doesn’t sound very easy nor does it sound like everybody would be content with their minutes.

Regardless Zoran Dragic is a very talented guard who is not only drawing interest from the Phoenix Suns but the Indiana Pacers as well. The closer he gets to signing in the NBA the more suitors who are likely to pop up.
