The Buffalo Bills have their quarterback situation figured out with E.J. Manuel and their backup role has been filled by Kyle Orton. But that hasn’t stopped the team from trying to audition as many quarterbacks as possible as a former Sammy Watkins teammate has been brought in for a look.

According to Field Yates from ESPN.com, the Bills worked out Tahj Boyd on Tuesday but it’s unclear if he’s going to land a roster spot.
"Former Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd was among 14 players who worked out for the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Field Yates.Boyd, a sixth-round pick of the New York Jets this season, was Sammy Watkins’ college quarterback.The Bills do not have an open spot on their 53-man roster or practice squad, so if they wanted to sign Boyd, they would have to make a corresponding move."
The move could make a lot of sense in helping both Boyd and Watkins pop at the NFL level as neither have done much yet despite the class difference between the two. Boyd and Watkins connected more than a few times at Clemson and while Boyd won’t be supplanting Manuel anytime soon, his presence on the roster — should he earn a spot — might be more beneficial than anyone thinks.
