The Buffalo Bills are reportedly close to being sold to Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula and all indications are that it will be a record sale.

More from Buffalo Bills

What that means is we could be close to seeing the Bills franchise, which was valued at $935 million, sell for more than $1.1 billion.

According to ESPN.com, the bid from Pegula has been “tentatively approved” by those who are allowed to make the decisions with the team, Ralph Wilson’s estate, and we could see the entire process competed by early next month.

From the report:

"The bid has been tentatively approved by members of late owner Ralph Wilson’s estate, two people familiar with discussions told The Associated Press on Tuesday. They spoke on the condition of anonymity because the sale is being conducted privately. The next step, the people said, is for the estate to get initial approval from the NFL. That could come by the end of the week and as early as later in the day in a process that could be completed by next month."

The biggest win here is for the Bills fan base, who seemingly no longer have to worry about whether or not their team will be relocated.
