With James Harden and Dwight Howard on their roster, the Houston Rockets don’t lack star talent. What they do lack however is depth.

After losing both Chandler Parsons, Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin this offseason, Houston softened the blow by adding Caron Butler though still could use additional reinforcements. One such position they’re looking to improve is center as Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle notes.
Of course, that’s a lot easier said than done considering the market is rather limited, but that hasn’t stopped the Houston Rockets from pondering such a move.
"They could look at some of the free agent veterans still on the market. But they would have to ask if Nazr Mohammed or Ryan Hollins can help more than Dorsey. For that matter, if those are the options, is the need for a veteran in the midst of their backup big men as needed as it was with their even younger, more inexperienced backup guards."
While an addition would be nice, Feigen does go on to suggest the most likely scenario is the Houston Rockets going to camp with the roster they currently have.
The few ‘decent’ names left on the market like Aron Baynes or Gustavo Ayon are likely to require more money than the Rockets understandably want to pay and players like Mohammed or Hollins all come with their own set of question marks.
Houston will likely see what their collection of young big men can accomplish in training camp and general manager Daryl Morey will react accordingly.
