Mexico v Bolivia final score: Miguel Layun gives El Tri 1-0 win
On Tuesday night, the Mexico national soccer team faced off against Bolivia in an international friendly at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Denver, Colorado. After a scoreless draw with Chile over the weekend, El Tri was hoping to continue getting experience for some of the younger players while earning a more favorable result.

When the final whistle blew, Mexico got the 1-0 win thanks to an early rebound goal from Miguel Layun.
Bolivia is still winless against Mexico since 1997.
El Tri dominated the first half with nearly 70 percent of the possession, and it was one of the team’s 2014 FIFA World Cup members Miguel Layun who got Mexico on the board first.
In the 18th minute, Chivas USA’s Erick “Cubo” Torres, who was making his first start for the Mexico national team, found himself with a scoring opportunity and blasted the ball at Bolivia goalkeeper Daniel Vaca, but VVaca was able to come up with the big save for La Verde.
However, Layun was there to play garbage man and he put the rebound in the back of the net to put El Tri up, 1-0.

El Tri did seem to lack a veteran presence on the pitch in the absence of long-time captain Rafa Marquez, but the starting XI put together a strong effort in the first 45 minutes to provide some comfort for MIguel Herrera.
During the second half, there was a moment when the broadcasting booth reported that Herrera will be giving Carlos Vela, one of the top strikers in La Liga and arguably the top Mexican player in the sport right now, another chance to join the national team.
Once we got our focus back to the action, Oribe Peralta and Andres Guardado, who wore the captain’s armband over the weekend against Chile, joined the game as second half substitutes.
Torres had a quality scoring opportunity in the 69th minute, but Vaca came up with a huge save to rob Torres of the goal.
El Tri continued to control the match, while Bolivia struggled to complete an attack with any threatening shot on net as Moisés Muñoz stood comfortably between the pipes. In the 84th minute, Guardado put a shot on net goal, but he was denied by the post.
At the end of the match, Ramiro Ballivian was sent off with a straight red card after getting in the assistant referee’s face and making contact.
Bolivia earned a corner with 10 men and nearly evened the score, but El Tri was saved by the post and went on the counter as time expired in the match following one final foul from the Bolivian side.
