For the next two years, there is going to speculation about Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant’s free agency in 2016. Although the Thunder will have the upper-hand, many believe Durant could bolt, perhaps to join his hometown team, the Washington Wizards, which could cause a distraction.

More from Kevin Durant

Thunder big man Serge Ibaka believes it is too early to speculate about Durant’s free agency.

“He’s a grown man,” Ibaka said via Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports. “He runs his life. But one thing I know about Kevin. He likes to win. No matter what. That’s the one thing I know: He likes to win. That’s for sure.

“Of course, I think it’s too early to talk about Kevin staying or going. It’s going to distract people. It’s going to distract the team. He’s got two more years. Let’s [talk] when the time comes, and we are going to see. It’s too early. We have to work to do. We have things to do as a team.”

Durant averaged 32.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 50.3% from the floor, 39.1% from beyond the arc and 87.3% from the charity stripe during the regular season. In his career, he’s averaged 27.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 47.9% from the field, 37.7% from three and 88.2% from the field. Last season, Ibaka averaged 15.1 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.7 blocks and 1.0 assists per game while shooting 53.6% from the field, 38.3% from beyond the arc and 78.4% from the free throw line. Over the course of his five-year career, the 24th-overall pick in the first round of the 2008 NBA Draft has put up 10.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 0.5 assists per game while shooting 54.7% form the floor, 36.6% from three and 73.1% from the charity stripe.
