On Monday night the Detroit Lions suffocated Eli Manning and the New York Giants’ passing attack, though apparently wide receiver Rueben Randle wasn’t all that impressed.

While Manning looked rather lost in the Giants’ new offensive system, Randle says he had no trouble getting open against the Detroit Lions secondary and was a bit perplexed as to why he wasn’t on the receiving end of more catches.
Randle, who finished the game with just two catches (for one yard) on three targets expressed frustration to NJ.com.
“I can only control what I can control. Just go out there, block and get open and that is what I did tonight.”
Randle also talked about missed opportunities on the part of Manning.
“Yeah, definitely. Like I said, there were opportunities there, but like I said, my job is to run the route that is called and get open.”
While Rueben Randle didn’t get a heavy dose of targets, the New York Giants as whole weren’t on the receiving end of many considering tight end Larry Donnell finished the evening with eight, the most of any player on the team.
Before the New York Giants’ training camp came to an end, Eli Manning suggested it could take him nearly a full season to completely understand the new offense which doesn’t bode well for Randle or the Giants’ offense. Things won’t get any better this week either as Randle is expected to matchup with Arizona Cardinals All-Pro defensive back Patrick Peterson.
Sounds like things might be shaping up for a rough season in the Big Apple.
