The No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide slipped a spot in the recent top 25 polls despite a dominating effort in the Week 2 win against the Florida Atlantic Owls and the Tide look to move to a 3-0 record as they welcome the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles to Tuscaloosa on Saturday.

More from College Football

Alabama has gotten a hot start from wide receiver Amari Cooper who looks for his fifth straight game with at least 100 yards which would tie a program record, one week after he tied a program record for 13 receptions in a game.

His play has made Blake Sims look comfortable as the team’s starting quarterback, but Jake Coker will continue to play as Nick Saban continues his quarterback competition.

Southern Miss lost their opener to Mississippi State, 49-0, but picked up a 26-20 win in their home opener last weekend. They will face a tough opponent in their home stadium on Saturday in a game that doesn’t figure to be close. USM has the nation’s No. 122 scoring offense and the No. 103 scoring defense.
