College Football Odds, Week 4: Florida State a huge favorite

Although there weren’t many marquee matchups, aside from the South Carolina Gamecocks’ 38-35 victory over the Georgia Bulldogs, week three in college football was absolutely fantastic.

The ninth-ranked Southern Cal Trojans were upset by the Boston College Eagles 37-31 while the Virginia Tech Hokies, fresh off of a 35-21 victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes, were taken down by the East Carolina Pirates 28-21.

Many will be curious as to how this week influenced betting and what the spreads will be in this week’s game. Well, the folks at Vegas Insider have already released lines and we’ll take a look at a few of the big games.

The week will start Thursday with a huge game – the fifth-ranked Auburn Tigers will hit the road to take on the 20th-ranked Kansas State Wildcats. The Tigers are clearly the more talented team and the are 7.5-point favorites.

ESPN will be sending College Gameday to Tallahassee, Florida for the matchup between 22nd-ranked Clemson Tigers and top-ranked Florida State Seminoles. Last year, the Seminoles destroyed the Tigers 51-14 and Vegas believes another blowout is on the way – the Seminoles are favored by 20.5.

The Miami Hurricanes will be in Nebraska to battle the 24th-ranked Cornhuskers, who are are 7.5-point favorites.

Both the third-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide and third-ranked Oklahoma Sooners could have tough tests. The Tide host the Florida Gators and have opened as 17.5-point favorites while the Sooners will travel to Morgantown to take on the West Virginia Mountaineers – the Sooners are favored by 11.

The LSU Tigers are seven-point home favorites over the Mississippi Bulldogs.

The Pirates, coming off of that win over the Hokies, are two-point home underdogs as they welcome the North Carolina Tar Heels to town. The Virginia Cavalier, who upset the Louisville Cardinals Saturday, are 14-point underdogs at the BYU Cougars.
