The Jacksonville Jaguars were once again exposed as a hot mess on offense against the Washington Redskins. The team surrendered ten sacks in a losing effort at Washington that saw the team get trampled 41-10. Despite the ineptitude of the offense, coach Gus Bradley wasn’t ready to talk about replacing present starter Chad Henne with down-the-road starter Blake Bortles.

More from Jacksonville Jaguars

“Right now, we’ve got a lot of things we need to correct,” Bradley said per the team’s website when asked if Bortles might get the start in Week 3. “We’ll take a look at that all on film.”

In fairness, Jacksonville’s loss was a total team failure. The defense surrendered 449 yards of offense, mostly to Kirk Cousins. The offense was woeful at best. To say that Blake Bortles could have come in and changed the outcome of this game by much would be a big stretch. Still, it’s hard for Jaguars fans to sit by and watch Chad Henne cling to the ball in the face of a fierce pass rush when Bortles, the clear-cut QB of the future, sits on the sidelines.

The Jaguars said they wanted Bortles to sit in 2014, but it seems that one way or another this won’t last all season. Either Henne will play himself out of the starting job or the team will be so bad they have no choice but to turn to Bortles. Either way, don’t expect Bradley to dodge the issue of his rookie QB for the rest of the season.
