To say the Oakland Raiders are struggling would be a bit of an understatement. But they can’t already be thinking of firing head coach Dennis Allen yet, can they?

More from Las Vegas Raiders

Allen, who was hired in 2012 has lead the Oakland Raiders to consecutive 4-12 seasons, though in fairness it wasn’t like he had much at his disposal. Now with a ‘perceived’ better roster complete with veteran talent, there was hope Allen and the Raiders would get off the proverbial snide.

So far that hasn’t been the case as Oakland sits at 0-2 and has looked comedic in effort. That had lead to speculation around the league that Dennis Allen’s job could be in jeopardy, this according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen (via Evan Silva).

While Dennis Allen hasn’t done a very good job with the Oakland Raiders, nobody else put in his position would have done much better. The biggest worry here is if Allen has lost the locker room. As a player you’re only going to a listen to a coach for so long, especially if you’re not getting wins. That’s when effort and metal play come in and it’s clear the Oakland Raiders are struggling with both.

You’d like to think the Oakland Raiders would attempt to keep Allen around until season end for stability, but if the losses continue to mount up might a firing be on the horizon?
