With big men at such a premium, many believed veteran center Greg Oden would find a home with a return to the Miami Heat or signing with the hometown Cleveland Cavaliers as potential options. However, with all of the news surrounding domestic violence coming up in the NFL, Oden’s history may keep him from finding a job.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

Chuck Myron of Hoops Rumors doesn’t see Oden playing this season.

"That domestic violence incident will have a chilling effect on Greg Oden’s career for quite some time, given what we’re seeing over in the NFL with Ray Rice. I can’t see him signing at all this year, and I’d bet against him signing the year after that. I think Bynum’s got one more last-ditch try in him, but it probably won’t be this season, either."

With the recent news about domestic abuse, Oden’s injury history and his troubles with alcohol, it’s tough to see Oden getting picked up.

Oden appeared in 23 games for the Heat. He averaged 2.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.6 blocks per game and shot 55.1% from the field and 56.5% from the free throw line. Oden was the number one overall pick in the first round of the 2007 NBA Draft but has only played in 105 games over three seasons. He’s averaged 8.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 57.4% from the floor and 658% from the charity stripe.
