Jonathan Dwyer once tried to speak out on NFL’s domestic violence problem
By Jack Crosby
The state of the NFL got a little bit worse on Wednesday with the news that Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer was arrested on allegations of domestic violence. This arrest was absolutely, positively the definition of the worst timing ever, given everything that’s happened regarding domestic violence in the league over the course of the last month.

Matters could not get any worse, can they? Well, actually, they could.
It seems that, about a week ago, Dwyer took to his twitter account to answer a question in regards to how NFL players feel about domestic violence, and he wanted it to be known that it is absolutely not tolerated among the players in the league.
Now if you’re asking yourself where the “tried” part in the title of this piece is coming from, well, just take a look at his attempt and you’ll more than likely immediately spot the reasoning.
Bless him, he tried. He probably also had no idea that he was about a week away from making a complete ass of himself even more, but that’s neither here nor there.
Nonetheless, for his arrest, the Cardinals made the swift act of deactivating Dwyer once the news came through and at last word he was being held at the Maricopa County Jail.
