Emmitt Smith wants Florida Gators to bench quarterback Jeff Driskel
By Jack Crosby
There’s no question that Florida Gators fans have been frustrated with the inconsistencies of quarterback Jeff Driskel. Whether it’s injuries or poor play, hejust hasn’t live up to a lot of expectations. But with his performance against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday, he drew the ire of one of the most respected Gators ever, Emmitt Smith.

With the Gators struggling late in the fourth quarter, after getting off to a pretty good start against the Tide, Smith took to his twitter account and he had a pretty stern message for his former school.
He wants Driskel put on the bench because he can’t take it anymore, like a lot of other Gator fans.
Driskel has indeed had a rough outing on Saturday in Tuscaloosa, throwing for 80 yards on just 7-of-25 passing with one touchdown and two interceptions. And those interceptions that he threw were just very poor decisions.
Still, it really does say something when you start getting called out by famed alumni, and that is where Driskel is at right now. So far early in the season, he has looked a little better under first-year offensive coordinator Kurt Roper, but today was just a reminder that he just might not ever get to the level that people would like.
