On Wednesday, the university responded by suspending Winston for the first-half of Saturday’s game between the top-ranked Seminoles and the 22nd-ranked Clemson Tigers.

There was an outcry that the school wasn’t doing enough – not because this particular incident deserved further punishment but because of his recent history of mistakes.

On Friday night, the school announced that Winston would be suspended for the entire game.

According to Rachel Nichols of CNN, Winston was suspended for lying about Tuesday’s incident.

Now redshirt sophomore quarterback Sean Maguire will be playing the entire game while Winston can only sit back and watch.
