Now that NBA teams have filled out their rosters, teams are looking to add bodies for training camp.

Although teams like to add younger players they can develop so they can make the roster or perhaps play for that team’s D-League affiliate, many choose to sign veterans not only to help their younger players but perhaps make the team.

The Washington Wizards have reportedly added a veteran for camp, signing veteran swingman Rasual Butler.

According to Shams Charania of Real GM, Butler and the Wizards agreed to a deal Monday. There is no guaranteed money in the agreement.

Butler appeared in 50 games for the Pacers last season, including 11 playoff games. He averaged 2.7 points, 0.8 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game while shooting 46.4% from the field, 41.9% from beyond the arc and 57.1% from the charity stripe. He was drafted by the Miami Heat with the 53rd-overall pick in the second round of the 2002 NBA Draft. The former LaSalle Explorer has played for the Pacers, Heat, New Orleans Pelicans (Hornets), Los Angeles Clippers, Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors. He’s put up 7.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game while shooting 40.0% from the floor, 36.0% from three and 74.5% from the charity stripe.
