The Indiana Pacers are without superstar Paul George this season after his injury in the Team USA scrimmage this summer but it would appear that his troubles extend off the hardwood as well. George is trying to focus on getting back into playing shape for a hopeful yet extremely doubtful return this season, however he has business to attend to away from basketball.

According to the New York Post, George allegedly fathered a 5-month old daughter with a woman earlier this year but he’s doing all he can to avoid having to take responsibility for the child. As a result, a Manhattan judge has deemed George a deadbeat father.

"“Even though it is all but certain that [George] is the father of the 5-month-old baby girl at the center of this case,” Justice Matthew Cooper writes, “he has gone to every length imaginable to avoid taking responsibility for his actions.”George has jumped through legal hoops to delay the case brought in May by his ex-stripper baby mama, Queens native Daniela Rajic."

George isn’t the first professional athlete to have allegedly bailed on a child he fathered, as there have been cases across all sports of this happening. It’s hard to judge without knowing for certain if George is the father or not, but Judge Cooper apparently has enough evidence to have made the statement that he did.
