Calvin Johnson did not practice with the Detroit Lions Wednesday because of an ankle injury.
According to MLive.com, Johnson is not worried about missing Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.

"“No, I’m not concerned about it. When those things happen, you get in here and you just work and work and work until those things get right.”"

Johnson had the ankle taped before Wednesday’s practice session, but was held out mostly for precautionary reasons.

Johnson was injured late in Sunday’s win over the Green Bay Packers and Wednesday’s practice was the first he’s missed since the start of the regular season, something said he’s helped him stay in sync with quarterback Matthew Stafford.

"“It’s big. For one, the timing. That’s the biggest thing. Getting out here, doing things full speed, so Matt can get a good feel for it and you get a good feel for it, as well. It just builds your confidence.”"

While battling injuries to his knee and finger last season, Johnson didn’t even practice half of the time during the season, but fought his way through 14 games with 84 receptions for 1,492 yards and 12 touchdowns.

In three games this season, Johnson has 19 catches for 329 yards and two scores. Despite having a number of lingering injuries throughout his career, he has missed only six games out of 115 in his time in the NFL.
