The Cleveland Cavaliers have made a couple of deals that seemed minor at the time.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

On draft night, they acquired veteran center Brendan Haywood from the Charlotte Hornets.

Then, on Thursday, they agreed to deal Erik Murphy, John Lucas and Malcolm Thomas to the Boston Celtics for guard Keith Bogans.

Both players have unguaranteed contracts and therefore they could help the Cavaliers pull off a major trade.

Mark Deeks of Sham Sports explains why the Cavaliers are thinking “extremely big.”

What the Cavaliers would do with Haywood’s unguaranteed contract has been speculated about since draft night. With Bogans’ deal now also in the fold, the Cavaliers have a lot of firepower. The Cavaliers now have the potential to add another All-Star caliber player to a team that already has LeBron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving.
