It was only a matter of time before the hapless Oakland Raiders did an overhaul.

Pending an official announcement, rumors have sprouted that the Raiders have fired their head coach, Dennis Allen. The team, which is sitting poorly on an 0-4 record at the start of the season, could use the change. The team fell in London to the Miami Dolphins in a 38-14 stomping, which was most likely the final straw.

The team could overlook a loss to the New England Patriots (I mean, it’s Tom Brady, come on), but in addition to the Pats and the Dolphins, the West Coast team has also fallen to the Texans (who are 3-1, but always teetering on the edge of collapse) and the New York Jets, who have yet to defeat anyone — well, except the Raiders.

Maybe the team hopes that by ushering in a new head coach, things will turn around in Oakland. For a team sitting firmly in fourth in the AFC Western Division, though, it might be too late.

UPDATE [Sept. 28th, 10:17pm ET]: The tweet from Terry Collins has since been deleted, which begs the question of if this was all a bunk story or if the story was leaked too early.
