The New England Patriots finally got on the board after being down 27-0 late in the third quarter to the Kansas City Chiefs with a strike from Tom Brady to Brandon LaFell. The play started as a slant route and ended in a 44-yard touchdown after LaFell broke a couple big tackles.

This was the first touchdown that the Patriots scored in the second half in the 2014 season and their first touchdown in five quarters dating back to last week’s disgusting 16-9 win over the Oakland Raiders.
The Patriots are 2-1 this season and it looks like they’ll move to .500 after this beat down by the Kansas City Chiefs unless the Patriots defense decided to wake up and Brandon LaFell can continue to do that to defenders.
The Pats found themselves trailing by 27 after three Jamaal Charles touchdowns, one on the ground and two through the air, as well as a couple of Kansas City field goals.
The Chiefs defense has played well, forcing an interception and a fumble from Tom Brady that led to scores. Questions about the Patriots offensive effectiveness have emerged in the 2014 season with a weak running game and a poor receiving core. Tom Brady is getting old and he’s not able to do it all on his own. We’ll see how the Patriots finish the game.
