Los Angeles Clippers more mentally prepared says Chris Paul

In terms of talent, there may not be a deeper team in the NBA outside of the Los Angeles Clippers (though the Chicago Bulls may have an argument).

So what has been holding the Clippers back? Might it have been a lack of mental toughness? That seems to be the belief of point guard Chris Paul who says he and the rest of his teammates have improved themselves this offseason and are now more mentally prepared than ever.
“Mental toughness is one of the things I always thought I was strong in but I worked on that this summer,” Paul said. “You can always get better at different things. Last year we learned as a team what the process was and this year we’re going to have to fall in love with the process. The ugly days and the grind of it, that’s where you come together as a team. We’ve been around longer enough that we have to lead like that. Doc talked to us about not having any bad days. We learned last year and we need to move forward.”
Not only did the Los Angeles Clippers go through the mental grind of the 82-game regular season but they also were forced to deal with the distraction of the Donald Sterling situation smack dab in the middle of the postseason. That’s a nearly impossible task for any team though the Los Angeles Clippers certainly held their own despite the circus surrounding them.
Now with an even more talented roster and another year of experience, Chris Paul and the Clippers are expecting big things.
