The Baltimore Police Department has a friendly wager with the Kansas City Police Department as the ALCS gets underway between the Orioles and the Royals.

If the Orioles win the ALCS and advance to the World Series, the Baltimore Police Department will enjoy some Kansas City barbecue. If the Royals win, the Kansas City Police Department will feast on Baltimore crab cakes.

Baltimore Orioles’ fans have waited 31 years to see another World Series champion. Kansas City Royals’ fans have waited 29 years. Both cities are dialed in, cheering hard for their teams as they try to earn a berth in the 2014 World Series.

In Baltimore and Kansas City, the excitement has reached the respective police departments. A few friendly trash-talking tweets later, and the two police departments have placed a wager on the ALCS.

It all started with the Kansas City Police Department. We know them to be active on Twitter thanks to their request for a crimeless night during the AL Wild Card Game. On Friday night, they stirred the pot with a tweet directed to Baltimore PD.

Baltimore’s finest responded by suggesting a wager.

And things proceeded from there.

As if all of this wasn’t awesome enough, the two police departments then compared mascots.

Outstanding stuff.
