On Sunday afternoon Eric Decker and his New York Jets will take on the Denver Broncos in the Mile High city.

It’s of course familiar territory for Decker as he was drafted by the organization and spent the first four seasons of his career with the Denver Broncos before signing with the New York Jets this past offseason. So far it’s been a disappointment for both Decker and the Jets as the team has continued to struggle while Decker has been hampered with injury.

Reflecting upon his time with the Denver Broncos, Eric Decker suggested he missed playing for the franchise.

“I miss the comfort of the City of Denver, the organization and weather of Denver,” Eric Decker told the media.

What’s not to miss? Not only was Eric Decker playing on one of the best franchises in the NFL, he was catching passes from Peyton Manning while being part of one of the most pass happy systems in the league. He went from a dream scenario for a wide receiver to a team who is more focused on the run and is constantly dealing with a quarterback controversy. He also happens to be playing in a much more intense market as every move will be scrutinized in New York as opposed to Denver where things are a bit more laid back.

Needless to say it’s understandable as to why Eric Decker might be longing for his days with the Denver Broncos, though he has five-year, $36 million dollar contract (with $15 million guaranteed) that he can wipe his tears with.

Doesn’t seem as if the feeling is very mutual either as the Denver Broncos have moved on without Decker just fine.
