Editor’s note: This post will take a look at the top Fantasy Football Week 4 scoring leaders and top performers from the early games.

More from Baltimore Ravens

In an action-packed early time slot in week 6, Peyton Manning chased history, Joe Flacco had his biggest day ever, and the Browns turned the tide and overwhelmed the Steelers.  Two of the eight games games came right to the wire with exciting finishes resulting in wins for the Packers, Titans, and the year’s first tie which came in the Panthers trip to Cincinnati.

In the eight games that started at 1:00 ET, here were the best fantasy football performers:

Joe Flacco-QB-Baltimore Ravens

Flacco was insane against the Bucs throwing four touchdowns in the first quarter as the Ravens routed the Bucs in Tampa. He finished with five touchdowns and a total of 306 passing yards while completing all but eight of his 29 attempts.

Tom Brady-QB-New England Patriots

Brady and the Pats continued their bounceback with a strong showing on the road in Buffalo.  He threw for a total of 352 yards and four touchdowns while New England picked up an important divisional victory.  Doubters continue to question him, but Brady came up large again in a matchup against a tough defense

Cam Newton-QB-Carolina Panthers

Even in what looked like a bad matchup, Newton showed why he can should still be in the QB1 conversation.  Newton returned to form with a pair of touchdown passes with 284 yards through the air while adding a rushing touchdown on his 107 yards on 17 rushing attempts.  He threw a costly interception late, but his overall numbers for the day were a step in the right direction for his fantasy owners.

Peyton Manning-QB-Denver Broncos

Manning got in on the quarterback-led scoring too throwing for three touchdowns of his own against the Jets while piling up 237 and three touchdowns in the Broncos 31-17 win.

Brandon LaFell-WR-New England Patriots

The leading non-QB scorer out of the early games was a surprise as LaFell caught four passes for 97 yards and a pair of touchdowns.  LaFell is starting to emerge as a weapon in New England’s revitalized offense and should be considered as a WR pickup if available.

Detroit Lions D/ST

The Lions D picked off Teddy Bridgewater three times and added eight sacks.  Detroit allowed only a late field goal and won the game with limited offensive weapons by relying on their defense

Ben Tate-RB-Cleveland Browns

In the Browns lop-sided win over the Steelers, Tate ran for 78 yards and a pair of touchdowns on his 25 carries.  He continues to be the clear lead back for Cleveland, and the Browns have a very favorable schedule coming up.

Demaryius Thomas-WR-Denver Broncos

Thomas had his second huge week in a row in the Broncos win over the Jets. He hauled in 10 passes for 124 yards and a touchdown after posting 226 last week.

Giovani Bernard-RB-Cincinnati Bengals

With one of the highlight reel plays of the season, Bernard was huge for the Bengals even though he missed part of the game with a shoulder issue. He finished with 137 yards and a touchdown on the ground and added 20 yards on four catches.

Julius Thomas-TE-Denver Broncos

Thomas caught two more touchdown passes as he continues his hot start to the season.  He only had four catches for 51 yards, but his two touchdowns give him an impressive nine on the season.

Steve Smith-WR-Baltimore Ravens

Smith didn’t have the volume of catches he has with Baltimore so far this year, but he still had a big game thanks to a log touchdown catch.  He finished with 110 yards on his five catches with one of Flacco’s touchdown passes.

Torrey Smith-WR-Baltimore Ravens

With Joe Flacco’s big day, he had enough touchdowns to keep owners of both Smith’s happy this week.  Torrey caught a pair of touchdown passes while finishing with four catches and 51 yards.

Mohamed Sanu-WR-Cincinnati Bengals

Sanu had a huge game with A.J. Green sidelined in the Bengals tie againstthe Panthers.  Sanu caught 11 passes for 120 yards and a touchdown while serving as the team’s #1 wide receiver.
