Frank Mir: I Would Welcome Brock Lesnar Back To The UFC

With a lot of people wanting to see a rubber match between the two, Frank Mir recently noted that he is on the list of people that would like to see Brock Lesnar return to the UFC.

More from MMA

In the past two years since Brock Lesnar returned to WWE, he has done nothing but get himself in better and better shape as time has gone on. With this, there are some people that believe when his lucrative contract with the professional wrestling company is up, he will seriously consider a return to the UFC, where he will set his sights on becoming the Heavyweight Champion once again.

There have been a lot of folks that have mentioned this possibility and are in favor of it. One of those people just happens to be one man that a lot of people would like to see Lesnar step into the octagon with one more time, Frank Mir.

Before capturing the Heavyweight title in the UFC, Lesnar actually lost his debut fight in the promotion to Mir, via kneebar submission in the first round back in February of 2008. In July of 2009, Lesnar would get his revenge on Mir, stopping via TKO in the second round.

In an interview with Combate, obviously wanting to get his own bit of revenge after his loss, Mir noted that he would certainly welcome Lesnar back to the UFC, if that’s what he wants to do.

"“I think that his come back would be good for MMA. He’s still popular, people know who he is and he brings attention. We are tied with one win each. I would enjoy a rubber match. I would like to welcome him back to the UFC.”"

While some UFC fans don’t like Lesnar, there’s no questioning that he brings a lot of attention along with him. As much as Mir does not like Lesnar as a person, which he also noted in the interview, he realizes that.
