A couple more upsets this week. We sit a little past the halfway point in the season, and the only thing that is certain is that Mississippi is the center of the college football universe, and the committee is going to piss a lot of people off. In a year like this, four teams is going to create a lot of arguments.

In case you missed it, here is my top 25 from last week.
1. Mississippi State: They beat three consecutive top ten teams. Enough said.
2. Mississippi: Their body of work as a whole is still better than Florida State, but the Seminoles closed the gap.
3. Florida State: Winston proved his worth to this team in the second half, but I’m betting he won’t make it through the rest of the season. There is simply too many things that could bite him over the next six weeks.
4. Auburn: They have a nice road win in Manhattan that keeps looking better, and they did lose to the number one team.
5. Alabama: The Tide played lights out against a severely overmatched A&M team. They looked like a championship team on Saturday.
6. Oregon: They had their hiccup for the season. Now it is destruction as usual for the Ducks.
7. Notre Dame: They looked destined to beat FSU on the last drive, but killed themselves with a dumb penalty.
8. Kansas State: They honestly looked better than Michigan State and Baylor. And they have a more impressive loss AND win.
9. Michigan State: Does this defense have holes this year? Purdue and Indiana fared well against them for a half in each game.
10. Georgia: I really should put them higher with the way they have played lately.
11. Ohio State: That offense looks unstoppable right now.
12. TCU: I know that they lost head to head to Baylor, but they have better wins that Baylor does, and the same record.
13. Arizona State: They punished a pretty good Stanford team.
14. Baylor: They got dominated by West Virginia in the second half.
15. Arizona: It’s hard to trust such a young team, but they have earned this spot.
16. Nebraska: Proved they could throw the ball as well on a cold night in Evanston.
17. Utah: Thompson seems to get better the more he plays. That’s all the Pac 12 needs is another good team. This is easily the second best conference in football. Hopefully the committee stays up and watches the Pac 12 like a lot of us rabid fans do!
18. Clemson: They have easily the best two losses of the two loss teams.
19. East Carolina: Too bad they won’t play another good team until bowl season. That loss to South Carolina keeps looking worse instead of better.
20. USC: They are still very alive in the Pac 12 south.
21. Oklahoma: OVER-RATED! (clap-clap clap-clap-clap)
22. LSU: They looked much better against Kentucky, but just how good are the Wildcats?
23. Minnesota: Ugly or not, they are 5-1……
24. West Virginia: They have one of the better defenses in the Big 12(10), but that isn’t saying much.
25. Duke: Something tells me that Miami loss won’t look so bad in the next month or so.
