NBA legend and Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan posts a selfie after taking over the team’s social media accounts.

More from Charlotte Hornets

In the past Michael Jordan, who owns a majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets has been relatively quiet in regards to his ownership of the franchise. He hasn’t been loud like a Mark Cuban or over the top like Steve Ballmer rather opting to play a background role.

However during the past offseason Jordan seemed to get tired of losing and with a re-branding of the franchise (formerly the Charlotte Bobcats), Jordan appeared to use his influence in free agency. The NBA legend suggested that he wanted to bring a star player to his organization and while he didn’t nab a LeBron James or even a Chris Bosh he did bring in Lance Stephenson.

Now Michael Jordan has decided to become more accessible to fans as he took over the Charlotte Hornets’ Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon.

Some questioned if it was actually Jordan behind the keyboard though MJ was quick to debunk such fears by posting a selfie.

When you have an owner as popular and well-known as Michael Jordan, it has to be pretty neat for fans to interact with the iconic NBA talent. It’s also cool of Jordan to put himself out there when in the past he’s proven to be somewhat of a recluse in regards to his ownership of the Hornets.

Hopefully the day-long takeover of the Charlotte Hornets’ social media accounts goes well and Michael Jordan will decide to do it again in the future.

It would also be pretty sweet if fellow owners and front office members from across the league decided to get their feet wet in the process as well.

Also – nice shot of the wine bottles in the background, MJ.
