At first it looked like Johnny Manziel screwed up, but maybe the joke was on us. Or someone else, specifically.

More from Cleveland Browns

Earlier Friday, it seemed Johnny Manziel tweeted out his phone number in what was assumed to be a direct message gone wrong. The tweet was only a 10-digit phone number, the area code of which includes the San Antonio area from where Manziel is from.

The tweet was soon deleted, but not before plenty of people took a screen shot and shared the number. The number was re-tweeted more than 300 times in less than 30 minutes, according to ESPN.com.

People began posting their “texts to Manziel” which you can image weren’t a kind “Hey man, I think you accidentally tweeted out your number.”

This has become just another notch on the belt of Manziel’s off-the-field life.

But it may not be his number.

Searching the number on snap chat, the number turns up someone different. Go ahead, do it yourself. It’s not Johnny.

It is, apparently, one of his friends.

So maybe this was just a prank? Or maybe it was still a mistake and Manziel just screwed over one his friends, who was certainly getting texts left and right of things he doesn’t want to read.

Maybe we’ll find out more of exactly what happened, but more likely than not that tweet will remain deleted, the number will be canceled, and everyone will move on.
