Los Angeles Lakers forward Jordan Hill suggests Kobe Bryant can’t do it all himself and calls for his teammates to step up.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

Sometimes players can get enamored with the greatness around them and allow a superstar to take over the team. It’s happened with the Los Angeles Lakers before though when Kobe Bryant was much younger. Now it seems to be happening again though this time Kobe Bryant isn’t the same player he once was.

Still players on the Los Angeles Lakers roster appear to be deferring to Bryant which teammate Jordan Hill suggests doesn’t need to be happening.

Hill, speaking about Los Angeles’ early season struggles suggested that Kobe Bryant can’t do it all and there needs to be guys willing to step up.

It’s difficult enough for even the most talented player in the NBA to lead a team with minimal help let alone a player like Bryant who’s obviously in decline (though still very good).

As expected the lack of talent surrounding Bryant hasn’t been adequate to make the Lakers a winning team though more importantly the effort has seemingly been a bit sub-par.

To Jordan Hill’s credit, he’s played very solid in the Lakers’ first four games of the season (all losses) as he’s averaged 14.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game. There isn’t much more he could do which is why he seems to be calling on his teammates to step up and help get the Lakers back on the winning track.

That might be easier than it sounds unfortunately as it looks like it might be a long season in Southern California.
