However, just a few hours later, McClain was arrested in Tuscaloosa on drug trafficking charges.
Le’Ron McClain is being held on $500,000 bond, according to a report from ABC 33/40.
An investigation led to the discovery of 122 grams of synthetic marijuana — or “spice” as it is also known — that the former Alabama Crimson Tide standout had been selling.
McClain joined the NFL out of the University of Alabama as a fourth-round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft.
As a member of the Baltimore Ravens, Le’Ron McClain played for four seasons, including his two most successful years as a pro — two Pro Bowl appearances and All-Pro honors. After leaving the Ravens, McClain made brief stops in the AFC West as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers.
McClain was released by the Chargers on March 3, 2014. He is the cousin of Rolando McClain, who is currently a linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys.
