Fire John Idzik Billboards Appearing Across New Jersey Roadways
In response to the disappointment over the team’s 2013 season, and the 2-8 start this year, fans of the New York Jets have responded with billboards calling for John Idzik’s job.
“Fire John Idzik.” That is the popular opinion these days on what the New York Jets must do moving forward, especially if they intend to fix the direction that their beloved NFL franchise is heading down.

If you have driven on a New Jersey roadway recently, the following billboard has likely caught your attention. Apparently, two of these have been erected along route 3, and a third is set to follow shortly. Two weeks ago, an irate group of Jets fans created a website to vocalize their frustrations with John Idzik. They managed to procure more than $10,000 in donations, and with that money came these two digital gems. The third billboard will reportedly be static in nature instead.
While it might be a bold statement about the change in front office leadership that fans want to see, the potential dismissal of Idzik would be a small bandage in the gigantic mess that is the Jets franchise at this moment.
Rex Ryan was able to orchestrate 2 consecutive AFC title game runs in his first two seasons with the team. However, since then he has failed to make the playoffs in the last 3 years, and this 2-8 start will likely amount to the 4th such occasion. Since 2011, he is just 24-32. Couple that with frustrations stemming from the league’s worst passing offense, and a mid-teir (at best) total defense, and it becomes clear that there is major work to be done in the Meadowlands.
