Last Tuesday, seven-year old J.J. Beemer left his house and was hit by an SUV on Missouri Highway 7 and Maple Lane at about 6:30 AM local time.
J.J.’s father Jacob, know how big of a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs his son is, took to social media in an attempt to raise his son’s spirits. He asked Chiefs fans to hold up a sign in his son’s honor and the response he got was just fantastic.
Noah Kauffman, a resident of Pennsylvania saw the plea and decided to do something about it. He drove up to Buffalo, sign in hand and attend last week’s game between the Chiefs and Bills decked out in Chiefs’ gear.
“When I was 9 years old, my best friend was killed when she was hit by a car. So I was moved to make a sign to get the word out about J.J.,” Kauffman said via KCTV5.

Jacob and J.J.’s mother, Amber Powers were touched by the gesture and also had a bit of good news:
“He’s kind of in the right direction so everything’s looking pretty good. It’s hard to say exactly what we’re feeling,” Powers said.
