Johnny Manziel, after sitting on the sideline for most of the season, is getting his chance to play for the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, after the offense and Brian Hoyer had yet another shaky outing.
Manziel has been inserted into the game in the fourth quarter with the Browns down 20-3 and desperate for some sort of spark on the offensive side of the ball.
As for why the Browns finally decided to sit Hoyer down, well, he was wildly ineffective in this outing. On the day he was just 18-of-30 for 192 yards with no touchdown passes and two interceptions. Both interceptions were just downright bad decisions on his part, as well.
So now it’s time to see if the first-round draft pick out of Texas A&M can indeed provide that spark that some believe he could. Can he recreate the magic that he had in college and eventually claim this offense for his own? ]
Well, we don’t know the answer to that just yet, but we are about to find out.
The good news is that he completed a 12-yarder to get things rolling.
