Earlier this year, UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis won a fan vote as part of the Wheaties NEXT Challenge. By winning the vote, Pettis became the first mixed martial artist to grace the cover of a Wheaties box.

Votes were logged when the voters would log-in to MapMyFitness.com and log their workouts each day. Every workout counted as a vote towards the athlete and on Monday it was announced that Anthony Pettis was the winner.
Pettis beat out motocross athlete Ryan Dungey of Belle Plaine, Minn., para-athlete Blake Leeper of in Knoxville, Tenn., lacrosse athlete Rob Pannell of Smithtown, N.Y. and women’s socer player Christen Press of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.
On Thursday afternoon, the cover of Anthony Pettis’ historic Wheaties box was unveiled.

Congratulations to Pettis on the big honor and accomplishment.
Pettis will put his title on the line this Saturday at UFC 181 in Las Vegas against top contender and fellow TUF 20 coach Gilbert Melendez. The fight will serve as the co-main event of the pay-per-view card, with a welterweight title fight between Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler as the headliner.
