In case you are new to this, I will give you a little introduction to the madness. For the last six years, I have been picking every FBS vs. FBS game against the spread.
Believe me, it is not as easy as it sounds. My personal best was set last season at 55.01%. I was aiming for 57% this year, but it is not going as planned. I am going to have a hard time getting to .500.
I take the average of the odds from each Vegas casino and pick against that. I round all spreads to the nearest half point. There will be no pushing here. Save that for your next mosh pit.
This is for entertainment purposes only. I cannot be responsible for you losing your dog, horse, car, or any other mode of transportation. I am a simple man. I cannot have that on my conscience.
There will only be one column this week since there are only 13 games between tonight and Saturday.

Central Florida at East Carolina(-6.5): This game looked like it was going to be important about a month ago. Not so much now. Still, with the high powered ECU offense at home, I think they win by a touchdown.
Northern Illinois(-6.5) vs. Bowling Green at Detroit: BGSU has not been a very consistent team this year. The fact that they won their division is a testament to how weak the MAC really was this year. Give me NIU.
(7)Arizona vs. Oregon(-14.5) at Santa Clara, CA: Hmmm…….Arizona beat Oregon – IN EUGENE – earlier this season and more than two TD dogs on a neutral site? No way! Give me Arizona for my lock of the week!
Louisiana Tech vs. Marshall(-11.5): This is too many. La Tech’s offense is arguably as good as Western Kentucky’s. Their running game definitely is. Give me the Bulldogs.
Houston at Cincinnati(-7.5): This line opened at -7, and has not budged at all. I am giving the half to Cincy since they are the home team. I am still taking Cincinnati too because of their defense.
SMU at Connecticut(-11.5): Wow, you don’t see this very often. A 2-9 team as a 12 point favorite. That said, SMU might be the worst team in recent memory. I guess I have to take UConn.
Iowa State at (3)TCU(-33.5): TCU needs this big of a win to maintain style points in the eyes of the committee. I would assume that the rise in this line is because of that. I think TCU gets it done. Give me the Toadies at home.
Oklahoma State at (20)Oklahoma(-20.5): This is a tough one. OSU has been nothing short of awful this year. Trevor Knight is still out, and Cody Thomas completes south of 40% of his passes. That said, Perine is a beast in the backfield, and I highly doubt that the Cowboys can stop him. Give me Oklahoma.
(1)Alabama(-14.5) vs. (15)Missouri at Atlanta: The Missouri defense might be good enough to give Alabama some problems, but their offense is still a mess. Don’t let last week fool you. They won’t be able to get behind Bama they way they did against Arkansas. Give me Alabama.
Temple(-3.5) at Tulane: Way too low. I know Temple’s offense has struggled, but I doubt Tulane scores. They might not even cross midfield against this defense.
(9)Kansas State at (6)Baylor(-8.5): A lot of eyes will be on this one. If Kansas State wins, the Big 12(10) title is TCU’s. If Baylor wins, then chaos ensues since Baylor beat TCU in their head to head matchup. K-State might have the best defense in the conference, but that isn’t saying much. Baylor definitely has the better offense. I have to go with Baylor at home.
(4)Florida State(-3.5) vs. (11)Georgia Tech at Charlotte: The Seminoles’ poor play is finally hitting the odds. On paper, it probably shouldn’t be nearly this close. In reality, FSU probably shouldn’t be favored at all. I think everything catches up with them here. This option is tough to stop. Give me Georgia Tech.
(13)Wisconsin(-3.5) vs. (5)Ohio State: This line will be surprising to some people, but the fact is that Ohio State is on their third string quarterback. The line probably shouldn’t be this close. J.T. Barrett was an anomaly, and even when he first stepped in, the Buckeyes struggled agianst a below average Virginia Tech team. Wisconsin is not below average. Give me the Badgers.
Fresno State at (22)Boise State(-21.5): Boise rose from the wreckage of ECU, Marshall, and Colorado State losing. Now a New Year’s Six bowl is theirs for the taking. All they have to do is beat a severely overmatched Fresno team. Give me Boise State.
