Carmelo Anthony allegedly threatened to fight his New York Knicks teammate Tim Hardaway Jr.

Might Carmelo Anthony be having a bit of buyers remorse in regards to re-signing with the New York Knicks?

The All-Star forward has previously said the Chicago Bulls, who were his most interested free agent suitors, were a perfect situation but he simply couldn’t leave the Big Apple. However after a ninth straight loss, it appears the frustrations for Melo and the Knicks are overflowing.

So much so that Carmelo Anthony allegedly threatened to get physical and beat up teammate Tim Hardaway Jr. after the Knicks’ loss on Tuesday evening.

According to ESPN New York, Anthony believed that the second-year guard yelled “get the rebound” to the forward which didn’t sit well with Carmelo, who later approached Hardaway in the tunnel.

"Certain his second-year teammate was speaking to him, Carmelo Anthony approached Hardaway on the way down the court and used an expletive to ask Hardaway who in the world he thought he was talking to.Anthony, according to sources, then used another expletive in telling Hardaway he was going to beat him up when they got into the locker room after the game."

It’s not known if anything happened after that fact, though you’d have to assume that if there was a locker room fight, chances are somebody would have leaked such information at this point.

The threat of a fight (or one actually happening) isn’t exactly new as we’ve seen it plenty of times before, even with the greatest of players as Michael Jordan once famously punched Steve Kerr.

Still, it’s not the best way to handle problems, though the frustration from Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks is certainly understood.
