Closer Sergio Romo is drawing free agent interest from the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and San Francisco Giants.

There’s no denying Sergio Romo experienced a tough season for the San Francisco Giants in 2014 as the once proud closer was demoted from his role.

Still, he has a history of performing well and towards the end of the year looked as if had returned to form throwing his trademark frisbee sliders.

The strong play apparently has general managers around the league drooling as multiple teams are interested in signing the former closer including the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox. The San Francisco Giants are also wanting to bring Romo back, though some question if they’ll be willing to pony up the cash.

Sergio Romo, while talented, has proven to be emotional with the press in San Francisco so you wonder if he’d be able to handle the pressures of pitching for the Boston Red Sox or New York Yankees. That’s not to say he couldn’t do it, but a blown save in the American League East is not the same as a blown save in San Francisco.

The Los Angeles Dodgers would be an intriguing destination for Romo, especially since he grew up a Dodgers fan as he’s a native of Southern California. He however would not be placed in the closer role, something he understandably wants to do.

Given that it appears every interested team has a pretty significant question mark regarding their pursuit of Sergio Romo, though if he has figured out his mechanical flaws that were resulting in a flat slider he could be a wonderful addition.
