Jay Cutler is ready to forgive and forget after Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer apologized after criticizing him to the NFL Network.

The Chicago Bears are a mess and as dysfunctional of an organization as there is in the NFL this year. Bears offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer gave a tearful apology on Thursday night after criticizing Jay Cutler to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport last weekend and Cutler is ready to move and called this a “dead issue.”
“We’ve all made mistakes,” Cutler said, via Pro Football Talk. “I’ve said things out of character and things I wish I could take back and that’s what happened here. Really, in the offensive room, it’s a dead issue.”
Cutler admitted their relationship is in a better place after the apology and clearing of the air and believes the team’s lack of success this year played a part in his comments.
“We left that meeting in a better place than where we started,” he said. “I wasn’t angry at him. The way he talked to us and approached the issue, I think we cleared the air.”
“You start losing games, everyone’s going to be frustrated,” he said. “No one’s happy with where we’re at.”
No one is happy with where the Bears are at and it could lead to a massive overhaul from the front office where general manager Phil Emery could be shown the door, head coach Marc Trestman is on a seat that’s as hot as the surface of the sun and Kromer is just one of the assistants on Trestman’s staff that has not performed well enough to retain his job even if Trestman is retained.
