Kevin Durant is injured again and the reigning MVP will miss Friday’s game for the Oklahoma City Thunder with a sprained ankle.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have already dealt with their fair share of injuries this season with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook missing significant time in the early portion of the schedule and now they have to do it again with Durant nursing a sprained ankle.

Durant will miss Friday night’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers after spraining his ankle in Thursday night’s game against the Golden State Warriors and was convinced it was in his best interest to stay out for the duration of the game.

Durant missed the first 17 games of the year with a foot injury and the Thunder struggled mightily as you would expect without the NBA MVP in their starting lineup and currently rank 10th in the Western Conference with a 12-14 record, 1.5 games back of the eighth and final playoff spot.

He was injured in the closing seconds of the first half against the Warriors after he drew an offensive foul after charging into Marreese Speights. he had 30 points in the first half.

Durant is only averaging 22.4 points per game this year in nine games after averaging a career-high 32 last season when he won his first MVP.
