Denver Nuggets big man Timofey Mozgov suffered a pretty nasty cut while playing the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night. He has just received a bounce pass under the basket and was getting ready to go up when the Hornets’ Bismack Biyombo came over to challenge him.
Mozgov ended up inadvertently catching the elbow of Biyombo and it cut him pretty bad and blood began to flow rather freely from his head, creating a rather graphic scene.
Obviously Mozgov had to leave the game to have that attended to. It was a cut you’d expect to see in the UFC, not the NBA.
He got four stitches for the cut, and was expected to return to the game. Not like you needed any more proof that Mozgov was a tough guy, he hardly flinched when he got hit in a league that is known for flopping at the slightest touch to try and draw the foul.
Had Mozgov flopped, he would’ve had a convincing case.
