In 2015, popular sports drink Gatorade will be turning 50 years old. Yes, this is as big a deal as it sounds. The single most iconic beverage in the sporting world, a product synonymous with athletes such as Michael Jordan, Derek Jeter, and Tiger Woods will be hitting its golden anniversary.

What do you do if you are in the company’s storied shoes? You do the same thing that brought you commercial appeal in the first place; create an amazing advertisement. It is no secret that the folks at Gatorade have had one heck of a marketing team in place for decades. The phrase “Is it in you?” has been uttered by virtually every young athlete that has ever dreamed of winning a World Series or NBA title.
So to celebrate 50 years of hydrating athletes everywhere, the company released a video featuring a montage of 50 iconic figures/moments in professional sports history.
Names such as the aforementioned Jordan, and Peyton Manning appear throughout, along with entire teams, like the 2007-08 Boston Celtics in their record 17th NBA finals victory, or the 2009 New York Yankees after celebrating their mind-blowing 27th World Series Championship.
The video is sure to bring a nostalgia trip for most sports fans, as it spans several decades of happenings in the sporting realm, all culminating with a trip back to the practice fields of the Florida Gators football team; where the drink was first introduced to the world back in 1965.
