LG Has Speakers You Can Text

Tech giant LG introduces the Wi-Fi Music Flow speaker system that you can control by through text messaging.

LG plans to unveil the smart speakers at CES 2015 in January, according to a story by Mashable. The system will accept text commands from a messaging service called Line. You can send it the usual array of commands like stop, skip, play, pause, etc. but you can also send it smarter commands like “play party music”, wherein it will then find and play a party playlist.

It also has super easy connectivity with the auto play setting being capable of detecting any smart phone coming within a foot of the system and then it will begin playing whatever music is playing on the device. Pretty handy if you’re listening to music in the car and you can then walk in the door and keep playing in your house speaker system.

"The Music Flow speakers connect via dual-band Wi-Fi, using both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, giving them more robust bandwidth than your usual Bluetooth connection. A user can also network multiple speakers together for surround sound, with a soundbar up front and separate speakers in back. (via Mashable)"

LG’s upcoming line for 2015 includes three soundbars, three solo speakers, a new portable speaker model called the NP8350 and a new app called Music Flow is to be available on the iOS and Android operating systems.
