4. Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears make a lot of sense for Rex Ryan as well, and would be an even better situation for him than the Oakland Raiders would be. He would be able to walk in and already have a dynamic offense, and would then focus on rebuilding the defense.

Jay Cutler and the Chicago offense didn’t perform even close to their expectations, but they have the talent to turn that around next season. Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall are one of the most dynamic wide receiver duos in the game, and they have a big playmaking tight end in Martellus Bennett as well. Cutler is a much better quarterback than Ryan has had in quite some time, and he would be more than happy to work with that offense.

Defensively, the Bears desperately need a lot of help. They were 31st against the pass and 16th against the rush. That is an area that Ryan is more than capable of improving.

Chicago would be wise to throw a nice contract offer at Ryan and to see whether or not they can bring him on board. He is more than capable of rebuilding that Bears team and taking them back to playoff contention, and it likely wouldn’t take him too long with the offense that he would inherit.
