At halftime, the Ohio State Buckeyes had outgained the Alabama Crimson Tide by 209 yards. But, they still trailed Nick Saban’s first-ranked Alabama team 20-21 in the Sugar Bowl.
That changed with 12:51 seconds left in the third quarter, when Cardale Jones hit Devin Smith with a  beautiful bomb down the right sideline for a 47-yard touchdown.
After kicking the extra point, the Buckeyes went up 27-21 and haven’t looked back since. They’ve racked up 457 yards on offense and Cardale Jones has been running wild on a shocked Alabama defense.
Ohio State entered the game with question marks — how would Cardale Jones perform against the Crimson Tide after dismembering Wisconsin in the Big-10 Championship?
Clearly, Jones has had no problem. The deep ball he threw to Smith was a thing of beauty, and he continues to show off his abilities on the ground and through the air.
