Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell, who injured his knee in the regular season finale, publicly came out to voice his support for backup running back Josh Harris.

Bell left the game and didn’t return. The hit was a hard one from Bengals safety Reggie Nelson. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said in his post-game press conference that he thought it was a legal hit despite an argument that took place after the game on the field between the two.
Bell has said he feels better than he thought he would at this point and has not been ruled out of the playoff game just yet. However, he said in case he can’t go, he’s had his eye on Harris and believes in him. Bell said on Profootballtalk.com, via ESPN.com
“I’ve been watching him all year and I know what he’s capable of. You got a little glimpse of him (in) the Bengals game. He’s explosive. He knows all of his assignments. He’s not out there thinking any more. He’s just playing football. He’s only going to get better.
You’d have to believe he believes it.
Of course if Bell doesn’t play, I might be watching out for the Steelers passing game to take full effect. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had a field day against the Ravens the last time the two teams met in Pittsburgh.
Roethlisberger threw six touchdowns against the Ravens in a 43-23 rout on November 2nd. That should be the game plan if Bell can’t go. However Bell is right, Harris can be of great value. He did have a 59-yard run called back last week because of a penalty.
Harris, a rookie, however has only carried the ball nine times for a total of 16 yards this season.
The last time the Ravens and Steelers faced off, Bell only carried the ball 10 times for 20 yards. At the time they still had LeGarrette Blount and he wasn’t much better carrying the ball 10 times for 23 yards.
Sounds like the Steelers passing game is going to be in full effect no matter how much support Harris gets, with or without Bell. If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.
