Robinson finished the season with 1,203 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on 190 carries. He is one of the top-20 ranked running backs in college football, and will likely find his way onto a roster for next season.
Robinson talked to the media about his decision to leave Mississippi State and head to the NFL.
“I came through with my plan. I’m going to graduate; I had a great year; and I knew that was all going to happen,” Robinson said via ESPN.com. “I just want to count my chips and give thanks to the Bulldog fans, [athletic director] Scott Stricklin, [school president] Dr. [Mark] Keenum and coach [Dan] Mullen for letting me lead the program, and do what I do.”
Robinson finished third in the SEC in rushing and earned AP second-team All-SEC honors.
While Robinson may not be an early draft pick, he has plenty of mileage left on his legs and should earn a look at the end of Day 2 or on Day 3. If Robinson ends up undrafted, he is still talented enough to earn a spot on a practice roster.
