We have finally hit the point where we have a playoff system in college football, and on New Year’s Day, this new journey to the national title begins. In the second game of the day, the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Ohio State Buckeyes will clash in the Sugar Bowl.
Alabama comes in as the No. 1 team in the country and are the SEC champions. Nick Saban has once again engineered a masterful campaign for this program in 2014 and now they have their sights set on putting yet another national title trophy in the case.
To do that, though, they will have to go through an Ohio State team that worked their way into the final playoff spot by trouncing Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game, 59-0. Urban Meyer has pulled off maybe one of the best coaching performances of his career in 2014, and he would love for nothing more than to cap it all off with a national title win.
